Sustainability Roadmap

Our sustainability roadmap is based on a materiality analysis conducted in H1/2022. We did 20 in-depth interviews with our external stakeholders, with a focus on customers and financial community as well as an open survey with over 200 answers from employees and external stakeholders. We have defined 3 key areas for Anora’s ESG-strategy: Planet, People and Product

Science based targets

We are committed to set Science-Based Targets. The Science-Based Targets Initiative (SBTi) encourages businesses to transition towards a zero-carbon economy by defining and promoting best practice in science-based target setting.

Planet

Anora’s own production will be carbon neutral by 2030 without compensations and 30% of our grain-based spirits regeneratively farmed. Our production is based on circular economy. We enhance biodiversity and use our planet’s water resources cautiously: we protect ground-water areas corresponding to 1,500 football fields. We are committed to science-based targets and aim for 38% reduction of scopes 1–3 in 2030 and net-zero in 2050.

1

Our own operations are carbon neutral by 2030 and our Koskenkorva Distillery is carbon neutral by 2026 – both without compensations.

2

We support regenerative farming, and we aim to increase the share of regeneratively farmed barley to 30% of own gran spirit products by 2030.

3

We enhance circular economy by  reducing wastewater with 20%, increasing recycling rate of waste to 90% and reducing landfill waste to zero by 2030.

People

Anora is as an inclusive and safe workplace that represents the diversity, equity and progressiveness of Nordic culture. We aim for zero accidents and a strong safety culture. Our value chain is fair and transparent; we source sustainably and protect human rights.

1

We have a fair and transparent value chain with sustainability certificates and audits covering 100% of risk countries and supplier code of conduct signed by 100% of suppliers by 2023.

2

We ensure diversity, equity and inclusion at work in own operations and extend the work to partners by 2030.

3

We increase the number of safety observations and reduce accidents resulting to absence to zero by 2030.

Product

Anora drives sustainable drinking culture. We offer more non or low alcoholic beverages and support shift to responsible drinking. We drive the transition to climate-smart packaging and increase the share of Anora’s sustainable choice products.
