Anora’s Koskenkorva plant awarded the Year Award in Starch Europe’s Safety Programme for the second year in a row

Safety is a top priority for Anora, and we are investing strongly in improving occupational safety and building a safety culture both within Anora as well as with our partners. The Year Award given to the Koskenkorva plant is an important affirmation that this work is truly moving us towards our goal of zero accidents at work.

The Starch Europe Safety Programme, hosted by the European Starch Industry Association Starch Europe, has been rewarding best performing starch plants in the EU for their efforts in reducing workplace accidents since 2014. The programme is supported by European starch producers, whose goal is to continuously improve safety practices and build a safer working environment for their employees.

Anora’s Koskenkorva plant has been awarded the Year Award in the 2021–2022 Safety Awards, a recognition given to plants that registered no employee lost workday cases involving days away from work for the calendar year, and no employee and no non-employee workplace fatalities for the calendar year. The Koskenkorva plant received the Year Award also for the 2020–2021 period, a great testament to the continuous efforts taken at Koskenkorva to improve work safety.

”I’m extremely grateful for the contribution of the whole team on developing safety at work – this is a proud moment and proof that we are moving in the right direction”, says says Miika Jokinen, Business Unit Director, Industrial Products & Services, from Anora.

The Industrial Products units in Koskenkorva and Rajamäki also reached the important landmark of 1,000 days without lost time accidents (LTI) on Sunday, 2 October 2022, another testament to the systematic planning, execution and daily commitment of the teams towards work safety.
